Kolaveri - Beginning of the end!!

Dhanush's kolaveri has certainly blasted everything to reach more and more heights..leave the regional news channels.. Economic Times talks about it!! CNN talks about it!!

It has hit millions of views in almost all video sharing sites! but the question to be answered is "IS IT REALLY WORTH??"


Probably not.. Tamil Cinema is slowly moving to the good old days where the actors used to do their song sequences.. We had a huge list of such people who were highly trained and talented in music.. The trend was later changed by stalwarts like SPB, YESUDAS, MALAYSIA VASUDEVAN etc.. Ilayaraja was dominating the industry for almost two decades wherein he rotated the hits between these established singers only. ARR changed this trend and brought in new voices.. later on improvised it with multiple voices in a single song.. This idea opened doors for many aspiring and talented singers to enter the industry and it was upto them to take it up further.. However, very few made a cut and sustained in the industry where the others are almost forgotten now.. The current generation is clear.. does not matter how talented you are.. the peak time is very limited.. probably 2 years and make good use of it.


Technology has come into music which allows you to do word by word recording as against the 100% live recordings done by MSV & Raja.. So it becomes all the more easy even for a foreigner to sing in Tamil. Looks like import of singers from Bollywood and Hollywood has increased considerably comparing with actresses.. Coming back, the recent release of Kolaveri has attracted some criticisms also.. Few people say that kids are being spoiled which is not a strong point since kids have many distractions apart from just a song like this. But for people who like, love and live music find it really difficult to understand what the hell is happening in the industry! The so called lyrics are literally a comedy!

You listen to Vikram singing for his movies, Simbu (accepted for his talent) sings for his films, Dhanush SINGS for his films.. and even Santhanam and Kanja karuppu might sing a song for their upcoming movies..


Kolaveri - by all means is a disgrace to musicians... this is just the beginning of the End of an ERA of good music in tamil films.. God Save us!

சொந்தமும் பந்தமும்

மாப்பிள்ளை பார்த்து சொல்லமாட்டர் .. சொந்தத்தினர் கூடும்போது கேட்பர் ...

"எப்போதான் கல்யாண சாப்பாடு போடுவ ?"

பந்தியில் மாப்பிள்ளை வீட்டார் காதுபட பேசுவர்..
